Olympic Torch Relay
Mr. Yves Pelletier, President of Nammo Canada, had the honor to participate in the Olympic Torch Relay on its way to Vancouver. Yves participated on December 27 2009 in London Ontario approx 700 km from Ottawa Ontario.
The Olympic Torch Relay started on October 30, 2009 at the British Colombia Parliament Building in Victoria right outside Vancouver on the west coast of Canada and will end on February 12, 2010 at the opening ceremony of the Vancouver 2010 - Olympic Winter Games. The torch will then have travelled back and forth through Canada for 106 days.
There is supposed to be 12,000 Torch Bearers that will do 45,000 km. It’s the most people participating and the longest Torch Run ever with the most different means of transportation: There is walking, running, wheelchairs, canoe, snowmobile, airplanes, helicopter, boats/ ships, horse drawn wagon, skating, skiing and even snowboarding.
