Norabel Ignition Systems acquired by Nammo
Norabel Ignition Systems AB (NIS) was established in 1990 through a joint venture between Nitro Nobel AB (today Orica Mining Services) and Norabel AB (today Nammo Liab AB).
Effective from 01 April 2011, the Nammo Group has acquired 100% of the shares in NIS.
The NIS business and product range will be fully integrated into Nammo’s Swedish subsidiary Nammo Liab AB. The acquisition will not have any negative effect on the production line of NIS while the products have been manufactured by Nammo Liab since the establishment of the company.
The core products from NIS are non-electric initiation system based on shock tube technology. These products are used by firemen, police and the military during safety, rescue and blasting operations.
“The integration of NIS into Nammo Liab AB creates a win-win situation both for customers and partners as for Nammo by the fact that the sales force and service department will be strengthened and the development and production line will remain stable”, says Thomas Resare, President Nammo Liab AB.
