An agreement has been reached whereby Nammo AS will purchase Bakelittfabrikken a/s effective 01 July 2005. The new company will be named Nammo Bakelittfabrikken AS, and will continue operations in the same Aurskog location as today’s business.
Bakelittfabrikken a/s is a Norwegian plastic technology company, which has specialized in plastic training ammunition for hand weapons and medium caliber weapons for the Norwegian Armed Forces, as well as limited export customers. Bakelittfabrikken employs 34 persons, and has an annual turnover of approximately 50-55 MNOK.
Nammo AS (The Nordic Ammunition Company) has as its core business ammunition development and production, missile products and demilitarisation services with an annual turnover of 1.500 MNOK with the export share outside the Nordic home market on more than 50%. Bakelittfabrikkens product spectrum is complementary to Nammos, which opens possible marketing synergy effects both in the Nordic home market as well as the export market. The change in ownership is therefore considered a strengthening of the business for both companies.
Manager in Bakelittfabrikken a/s, Svein H. Kallum, will continue as manager of the new company, which also will retain the existing employees.
